This was such a sleeper of a record. It takes a certain patient spark to awaken it’s connection within the listener. Perhaps this is because the average Ryan Adams fan has such a solidified idea of what to expect from said artist after all these years. It was so easy to let preconceived notions and hype overshadow Ryan Adams’ beautiful return from his musical hiatus. Anyway….one of my favorites from 2011 without a doubt. And never forget, when it doubt, sad, poetic or lush; have a drink and spin some DRA.
